In the latest episode of “WWE SmackDown” on the USA Network, Andrade emerged victorious in Match 5 of his series against Carmelo Hayes. This bout, which was a key event for the show, saw Andrade win the first two matches, while Hayes claimed victories in matches three and four. Hayes attempted to gain an advantage by attacking Andrade before the bell, but Andrade ultimately secured a 3-2 lead by hitting The Message from the top rope.
After the match, United States Champion LA Knight came out to commend Andrade and announced that General Manager Nick Aldis had named Andrade the No. 1 contender for the US title. Despite Knight’s confidence in retaining his title, the two will face each other next Friday on “WWE SmackDown.” This will be Knight’s first title defense since his victory over Ludwig Kaiser on “SmackDown” in Berlin, Germany, prior to Bash in Berlin.
