WWE Star Sheamus Discusses Opponents Asking Him Not To Hit So Hard

Sheamus, known for his physical and hard-hitting in-ring style, opened up about his reputation and how his opponents react to his level of intensity during a recent appearance on “Insight with Chris Van Vliet.” While Sheamus welcomes physicality in the ring, he revealed that not all of his opponents share his enthusiasm for the rough-and-tumble nature of his matches.

Complaints About Physicality

When asked if he’s ever received complaints about his physical style, Sheamus admitted that he has, and some of those who voiced concerns are still active in WWE.

“I think most in the beginning are taken aback, kind of deer-in-the-headlights stuff. But if you ask them afterward, [they say] that was brilliant,” Sheamus shared.

He emphasized that his style isn’t reckless, claiming he ensures his opponents’ safety while delivering the hard-hitting action he’s known for.

“I’m not dropping them on their head, not breaking their nose,” he added.

The Jeff Hardy Incident

Despite his careful approach, Sheamus acknowledged one notable incident where he accidentally injured an opponent.

“I did kick out Jeff Hardy’s tooth once. That’s probably the most damage I’ve done to someone,” Sheamus admitted.

While regrettable, he noted that his opponents are never sidelined due to his physicality and are always able to compete the following day.

The Thrill of a Sheamus Match

Sheamus believes that many of his opponents ultimately enjoy the intensity of his matches, describing it as an adrenaline rush for them.

“They’ll come back, [saying] that was awesome, that was great. And you’ll see just kind of adrenaline going in their face,” he explained.
