Former CMLL Women’s Champion Targets NXT Women’s Champion

Ahead of their WWE NXT Women’s Championship match, Giulia and Roxanne Perez addressed the media during the final segment of this week’s “WWE NXT.” In a surprising turn of events, former CMLL Women’s Champion Stephanie Vaquer—who, like Giulia, signed with WWE just a few months ago—posed a question to both competitors.

“What are you going to do when you have me waiting on the other side of your NXT Women’s Championship match?” Vaquer asked, appearing on the Titantron. Perez and Giulia turned to face the screen where Vaquer’s image was displayed, before refocusing on each other. With Vaquer’s presence looming large, Perez raised her NXT Women’s Championship high as Giulia fixed her gaze on the title.

Vaquer made her WWE debut in July at a live event in Mexico City, facing former WWE Women’s Tag Team Champion Isla Dawn. This came shortly after WWE announced her signing. Although she hasn’t wrestled since, reports suggested she was awaiting her USA work visa. Vaquer’s appearance on “NXT” this week hints that the issue may now be resolved.

With Vaquer now poised for action, Roxanne Perez faces dual threats to her NXT Women’s Championship reign. First, she’ll square off against former NJPW STRONG Women’s Champion Giulia on next week’s episode of “NXT,” which will also mark the show’s debut on the CW Network. Vaquer, however, could be next in line.
