WWE Hall of Famer and former World Heavyweight Champion Mark Henry praised Cody Rhodes’s recent performance against Roman Reigns in Atlanta, GA, during an appearance on “Busted Open Radio.” Henry noted Rhodes’s significant growth since returning to WWE in 2022.
“He needed to go through ‘Hard Times,’ needed to be sharpened,” Henry explained, referencing Rhodes’s father’s iconic phrase from his entrance music. “Guess what? Cody’s sword is razor-sharp now. He took it to Roman, swinging it hard. There’s a term I won’t say, but Cody’s swinging it right now.”
Henry believes Rhodes, once modest, has embraced his star power.
“He’s full of himself,” Henry enthused, seeing Rhodes not as a WWE side character but as the company’s main protagonist. “He feels the power now. He’s like Neo, unplugged and ready to go.”
At WWE Bad Blood, Rhodes will team with Reigns against Roman’s family members Solo Sikoa and Jacob Fatu. This event marks Reigns’s return to action since losing the Undisputed WWE Championship to Rhodes in April. Sikoa has revitalized Roman’s Bloodline stable, proclaiming himself “The Tribal Chief” and recruiting Fatu, alongside former IWGP Tag Team Champions Tama Tonga and Tanga Loa, who quickly secured tag team gold upon their debut in the company. Bad Blood is scheduled for October 5 in Atlanta, GA.
