Mercedes Mone, known to many fans as Sasha Banks from her time in WWE, has faced a multitude of prominent wrestlers throughout her career in WWE, NJPW, and now AEW. In the latest edition of her newsletter, “Mone Mag,” the AEW TBS Champion shared her picks for the “Mt. Rushmore of toughest opponents” during an upcoming appearance on First We Feast’s “Hot Ones.”
Mone named Charlotte Flair, Bayley, Bianca Belair, and Willow Nightingale as her top choices.
Her history with Charlotte Flair and Bayley is well-documented; the trio, along with Becky Lynch, are collectively known as the Four Horsewomen, who played a significant role in elevating women’s wrestling in WWE during their transition from NXT to the main roster. Bianca Belair has quickly established herself as a major star in WWE, notably main-eventing Night 1 of WrestleMania 37 alongside Mone, where they made history as the first Black women to headline “The Show of Shows.”
Among her choices, Willow Nightingale is the most recent opponent Mone has faced, having squared off at AEW’s Double Or Nothing for the TBS Championship, where Mone retained her title. Nightingale previously expressed admiration for Mone, particularly after their encounter at NJPW STRONG Resurgence in 2023, where Mone, despite suffering an injury, called an audible that allowed Nightingale to win the match. She acknowledged her respect for Mone, even amid their heated rivalry.
