AEW Star Ricochet Reflects on His Last Years with WWE

Ricochet was taken off WWE television last June amid rumors that he wasn’t planning to re-sign with the company. Eleven weeks later, he made his AEW debut at All In, entering the #1 Contendership Casino Gauntlet match.

Now, the former WWE star has opened up about his WWE experience while speaking on “The Masked Man Show.” He shared feelings of frustration during his final years with WWE, admitting he often blamed himself for not achieving the success he desired. Despite the challenges, Ricochet expressed gratitude for his time in WWE, especially for meeting his fiancée Samantha Irvin there.

“You can place blame anywhere, but I just blame myself. Everyone can blame who they want, but I just blame myself because that’s the only person I can control,” Ricochet explained. “I didn’t do something right—I’m not sure what it was. But, even though it was frustrating, I’m grateful because I met my future wife there. I would’ve liked to have done more, mainly for the fans who wanted to see me succeed. It’s more about the fans than it is about me.”

Ricochet also acknowledged that while WWE frequently featured him on TV, it felt like his character had more quantity than quality. Despite his frustrations, he enjoyed his time working with WWE.
