AEW’s Ricochet Names Action Movie Star Among Inspirations
Pro wrestlers often draw inspiration from diverse sources beyond the wrestling world, including comic books, movies, and music. AEW’s Ricochet recently appeared on “The Masked Man Show” and discussed the influences that shaped him into one of the top high-flyers of his generation.
Ricochet revealed that Jackie Chan, a legendary action movie star, is a major inspiration for him. “One of my biggest inspirations in life is Jackie Chan,” Ricochet shared. “While I’m not the biggest guy like Powerhouse Hobbs or Bobby Lashley, I bring flips and tricks into the ring, channeling a bit of Jackie Chan’s style. It’s something I’ve always been good at, and it helps make my performances spectacular.”
In addition to Chan, Ricochet cited several wrestling icons who have inspired him, including Rey Mysterio, WCW cruiserweights, Jushin Thunder Liger, Tiger Mask, and early independent stars like AJ Styles, Matt Sydal, Jack Evans, and The Amazing Red.
