The wrestling world has witnessed many big moves this year, with stars like Mercedes Mone, Kazuchika Okada, and Ricochet joining AEW, while Ethan Page, Giulia, and Stephanie Vaquer made their way to WWE. Both AEW and WWE have been busy holding onto key talent as well. One of those staying put is former WWE Cruiserweight Champion Cedric Alexander.
According to Fightful Select, Alexander re-signed with WWE earlier this year. While the exact details of his new contract haven’t been revealed, it is confirmed to be a “multi-year” agreement.
Alexander first made his WWE debut during the 2016 Cruiserweight Classic tournament, where he defeated Clement Petiot in the first round but was eliminated in the second round by former IWGP World Heavyweight Champion Kota Ibushi. His standout performance against Ibushi led to fans chanting “Please Sign Cedric,” which eventually led to WWE offering him a contract. He then started his WWE career on the “WWE NXT” brand before moving on to “WWE Raw.”
Now, Alexander is back in “NXT” with a mission to support and mentor younger talent.
