Backstage News On The Diamond Mine’s Debut On WWE NXT, Original Plans

As seen during this week’s episode of WWE NXT, The Diamond Mine finally made their “official” debut. According to a report from Fightful, there have been a lot of plans for the stable in recent months. As seen, the stable was revealed to be Roderick Strong, Hideki Suzuki, and Tyler Rust. Malcolm Bivens will be serving as their manager. The stable that debuted on Tuesday night is due to NXT increasing their focus on the Cruiserweight division. Of course, Kushida is the current Cruiserweight Champion, hence why the newly-formed stable attacked him.

WWE officials have been working on the stable for months now, “well before” Strong resigned in storyline from NXT. The original plan was for the stable to debut much sooner than last night. The storyline was pushed back several times so that it could take center stage on an episode of WWE NXT.

Despite some online rumors, Tessa Blanchard and Parker Boudreaux were never planned to be a part of the group. With that being said, several other members of the current NXT roster were suggested but the company stuck with Strong, Suzuki, Rust, and Bivens in the end.
