Daniel Bryan has reportedly signed a contract with AEW and the tentative plan is for him to debut at AEW Grand Slam Dynamite, which takes place on September 22nd from Arthur Ashe Stadium in New York City. This event is expected to draw close to 19,000 fans.
Bodyslam.net is reporting that Daniel Bryan and AEW began their original talks over the last few weeks. While there had been some internal discussions about the possibility of bringing Bryan in after his WWE contract expired and he didn’t re-sign, the two sides didn’t officially start talking until several weeks ago.
As of this writing, there is no word on the length of Bryan’s AEW contract but he’s expected to be allowed to work for other promotions as well, especially those in Japan.
