As we reported earlier today here on eWn, WWE has announced that SummerSlam will be taking place in Las Vegas, NV at Allegiant Stadium on Saturday, August 21. This date is the same night as Manny Pacquiao’s huge boxing match with Errol Spence Jr., which will also be taking place in Las Vegas. If all SummerSlam tickets are sold, the venue could host 72,000 fans for WWE. With that being said, Las Vegas has traditionally not been a hot market for pro wrestling.
According to a report from Pwinsider, WWE’s current plan is to end the SummerSlam pay-per-view so that fans also have enough time to attend the Pacquiao fight if they choose, or be able to watch the show from their hotel rooms or local bars. Of course, traffic could be an issue for fans who buy tickets to both events.
