Earlier today here on eWn, we reported that Vince McMahon and Bruce Prichard will be producing the revamped version of WWE NXT when it debuts in several weeks.
According to a report from Fightful, the talent on the NXT roster have not yet been told of this decision. Prichard and McMahon were also not backstage at the recent set of TV tapings, which took place two weeks ago. Next week’s show is already taped.
With that being said, the NXT talent have been told that Prichard will be visiting the WWE Performance Center this weekend. Most of the talent are not being required to be there for the visit. Also, top WWE agent/producer Jamie Noble has been spotted at the Performance Center more often than usual in recent weeks.
The NXT revamp will include changes to the logo, lightning and production heads. Vince McMahon and Bruce Prichard are expected to begin producing the show when it returns to live shows on September 14th. McMahon and Prichard will be in charge of the marketing, promotion, and direction of the company. It remains to be seen what their booking roles will be and whether it’ll only involve the top stars on the brand.
As you’d imagine, Triple H and others aren’t happy with many of the changes but they’d never say so publicly for obvious reasons.
WWE President Nick Khan recently confirmed a major NXT overhaul in the coming weeks. He said, “The look of the show, the production of the show, everything’s gonna change.”
