CM Punk Reportedly in Talks for an In-Ring Return

In what could be the biggest return to wrestling since Brock Lesnar in 2012, CM Punk has reportedly been part of ongoing talks for a return to wrestling.

According to the report from Fightful Select, the plan for Punk is for him to return as an in-ring performer. Their sources also have indicated that the most likely location for Punk will be AEW. With them confirming that there have been ongoing discussions between a company official and Punk regarding him returning as a wrestler within the company.

The report does also state that neither Punk nor AEW have officially confirmed this. And, that they have not heard any specifics regarding a contract being signed, creative plans etc. However, higher-ups within WWE do reportedly believe that Punk is AEW bound.

CM Punk has not wrestled regularly since his WWE departure the day after Royal Rumble 2014. He did however return as an analyst for WWE Backstage for a brief time.

AEW’s next pay-per-view All Out 2021 is set to air from the Hoffman Centres in Chicago, Illinois.
