Ethan Page Names WWE Main Roster Stars He Wants to Face

“All Ego” Ethan Page has quickly become a key figure in WWE NXT, capturing the NXT Championship in July and headlining multiple Premium Live Events. However, with nearly two decades of experience in the wrestling business, Page is now eyeing a run on WWE’s main roster, and he’s got some dream opponents in mind. Speaking with Sports Illustrated, Page shared the WWE Superstars he’s most eager to face once he makes the leap to the main roster.

“I’ve got history with Cody Rhodes,” Page revealed. “It’s personal history. Even if I’m the only one who saw it, I’d love to get in the ring with him.” He also expressed interest in facing some of his childhood idols: “Randy Orton’s one of my favorite wrestlers growing up. Now that I’m grown, I’d love to handle that.” Page added, “John Cena? He can get some too. He’s on a bit of a time crunch, so why not the Royal Rumble? Put that on my bucket list.” When it comes to WrestleMania, Page didn’t hold back, saying, “Let’s definitely do one of those.” He also set his sights on the Elimination Chamber match, saying, “Six guys, pick five and make one of them me—that’d be great. How long do you want this list to be? I could go all day.”

Page has already had the chance to share the ring with WWE legends, including a high-profile encounter with WWE Hall of Famer Bubba Ray Dudley on the November 6 NXT. In that match, Page and Ridge Holland defeated Dudley and NXT Champion Trick Williams at the former ECW Arena in Philadelphia.

Ethan Page Has His Eye on CM Punk for a Main Roster Match

But there’s one more opponent at the top of Page’s list—someone he’s crossed paths with before in AEW, but now, in WWE, their rivalry has taken a more personal turn. “I’m 35. I’ve got two kids and a hot Colombian wife. I’m just trying to make sure everyone is happy and taken care of,” Page explained about his focus on maximizing his time on the main roster. “For that to happen, I probably have to brush shoulders with guys like CM Punk, who screwed me over. So, if Punk needs a special guest referee, I’d be happy to return the favor.”

Page is referencing the October 1 NXT episode, where CM Punk served as the special guest referee for Page’s NXT Championship match against Trick Williams. Not only did Page lose the title to Williams in a dramatic moment, but the match ended with Punk delivering a GTS to a battered Page, as confetti rained down on Williams in celebration.

Page has a chance to redeem himself on December 7, when he enters the Iron Survivor Challenge at NXT Deadline. In this high-stakes match, Page could earn a shot at the NXT Championship, but he’ll have to outlast Je’Von Evans, Wes Lee, Nathan Frazer, and Eddy Thorpe—provided Thorpe is medically cleared to compete.

As Page continues to dominate NXT, it’s clear he’s already setting his sights on a big run on WWE’s main roster, with some legendary matchups on his horizon.
