Impact Reportedly Very Interested In Signing A Released WWE Star

Impact Wrestling are reportedly pushing very hard to try and sign recently released former WWE star, Buddy Murphy. This is at least according to a recent report from Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer.

In the report, Meltzer states that he has heard nothing regarding interest from AEW for Buddy Murphy, but that Impact are reportedly very keen on bringing him in. With Meltzer saying:

“Don’t know anything regarding AEW, but do know that Impact is making a major play for Murphy.”

Murphy was a part of the second most recent batch of releases from WWE on June 2nd. Another released talent on that day Malakai Black has already turned up in AEW due to a faculty error regarding his non-compete clause. Murphy, however has confirmed that his non-compete is the standard 90-day one issued to released WWE talent.

Whilst Impact may be interested in signing Buddy Murphy, his first match post-WWE release has already been confirmed as being against AEW star Brian Cage.
