28

As reported previously here on eWn, Kevin Owens’ WWE contract is set to expire in January of next year. It has now been reported that when Kevin Owens deal does expire, he is not expected to re-sign or remain with the company, which will bring an end to his over seven-year tenure with the company.

Speaking on his Living the Gimmick podcast, Jon Alba had this to say on Owens’ future status in WWE:

“In speaking with some WWE sources throughout the day, there is very much an internal belief Owens is gone at the end of his WWE deal. He has dropped multiple hints on social media in the last 24 hours that allude to him being AEW-bound.”

Additionally, it has been reported by Fightful that internally those in WWE were well aware of the date that Kevin Owens deal is set to expire. With the report making it clear that his upcoming expiry date was not a shock in the same way that that of Pete Dunne and Adam Cole’s deals were.
