On Wednesday’s Dynamite, Cody Rhodes defeated Seth Gargis by submission with the Figure 4-Leglock in convincing fashion. Afterwards, Rhodes and Arn Anderson were interviewed by Tony Schiavone when the duo was interrupted by Penta El Zero Miedo, along with Alex Abrahantes translating.

Penta would go on to talk trash to Cody, in both English and Spanish, before telling Cody he would further injury his shoulder to the point where Cody wouldn’t be able to hold his newborn baby girl. This sent Cody into a rage, as he went into the crowd and attempted to jump Penta El Zero Miedo. The locker room cleared out and separated both men. Following this intense confrontation, AEW officially announced a match between Cody and Penta for next week’s Dynamite.

Later on in the show, Sting was interviewed by Tony Schiavone where he put over Darby Allin and their match from AEW Revolution, as Sting and Darby picked up the win over Team Taz in Sting’s first official wrestling match since 2015. Lance Archer and Jake “The Snake” Roberts would come out to interrupt Sting. Archer told Sting and the rest of the world, “I never needed a Ladder Match to prove I’m the face of the revolution of AEW, and if things don’t change, I’m going to take much, much more than time,”. Archer and Roberts would exit to the backstage area.

Also, Matt Hardy has added three new members to his growing “Matt Hardy Empire”. Hardy introduced The Butcher, The Blade and Bunny (Allie) to the team. Hardy said the four of them would have a match on this Monday’s AEW Dark: Elevation. Later on in the night, AEW also announced a ten-man tag match for next week’s Dynamite:  Jurassic Express (Luchasaurus, Jungle Boy, and Marko Stunt) and Bear Country vs. Matt Hardy, Private Party, The Blade, and The Butcher with The Bunny.
