As seen at the AAA TripleMania XXIX event last month, WWE Hall of Famer Ric Flair made a surprise appearance as he came out with Andrade El Idolo for his match with Kenny Omega. During the bout, Flair got physically involved and hit Omega and Konnan with some chops. He then ended up putting Konnan in the figure-four.
According to a report from the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, AAA officials knew Flair would be coming to the show with Andrade and Charlotte but it was a last-minute decision to have him become involved on the live show. Konnan approached Andrade and asked him if he’d ask Flair if he would throw some chops. Flair was said to have been totally cool with the idea. It was then decided that if Flair could do some chops, he could also do the figure four, and he agreed to that also.
Just prior to the match, Flair was seen backstage with Andrade training and doing Hindu squats.
