NHL Talks With NBC Universal Stall, Latest On WWE NXT Moving To Tuesdays

WWE NXT is expected to move to Tuesday nights following WrestleMania 37. As of now, the date for the move is set for April 13. The reason for it is due to Wednesday night NHL games airing on the USA Network.

However, things are on hold as negotiations between the NHL and NBC Universal have stalled. The Walt Disney Company, owner of ESPN and ABC, announced a seven-year rights deal with the NHL for roughly $400 million a year.

NHL is shopping around a second rights package and is still talking to NBC Universal about it. It’s been noted the negotiations between the NHL and NBC “had been strained over the past several weeks, especially as it pertains to price.”

Basically, if the NHL gets a deal with NBCU then NXT will move to Tuesday, but if they don’t reach a deal then NXT could stay on Wednesday.
