In the realm of professional wrestling, Orange Cassidy’s gimmick is truly one of a kind. The former AEW International Champion has captivated audiences with his distinct character and extensive match history, making him a unique figure in the wrestling industry.
On a recent episode of “Q101,” Cassidy shared insights into how he differentiates himself from others in AEW’s large roster.
“There are many wrestlers in AEW, and the roster is extensive. For much of my career, I followed advice that worked for others. I’m not suggesting that advice was wrong; it just worked for them. Instead, I chose to do things differently, aiming to stand out by being unique, which helps in distinguishing oneself from merely being another wrestler,” Cassidy explained.
Cassidy also mentioned his preference to wrestle less frequently, though he finds himself competing more often than many others in AEW. Since joining AEW in 2019, his character has polarized opinions, with some believing he should adapt to be taken more seriously. Despite this, Cassidy is content to follow his own path.
“No one pressures me into doing anything I don’t want to do, and they are receptive to my ideas. I feel very lucky that AEW exists because it has allowed me to present something unique and new, and they have embraced it,” Cassidy added.
