Raquel González Reveals When She Felt Like She’d Made It in NXT

NXT Women’s Champion Raquel González has revealed at which point she began to grow in confidence in herself as an NXT superstar.

Speaking on Instinct Culture by Denise Salcedo in answer to the question of was there a moment she knew exactly who Raquel González is, she said:

“I think it was definitely that moment with Rhea Ripley in our Last Woman’s Standing match, because Rhea and I kinda started this journey together as well and we came in you know as these very innocent, young, still learning girls, and we were doing this together, and I think that moment in the Last Woman’s Standing match when I defeated Rhea, was like a moment, like yes, This is Raquel! This is her! I’ve changed, I’ve become a full-grown woman and I’m an NXT women’s superstar, you know? And that was the moment I accepted it, and I skyrocketed from there confidence-wise, I now I exude this confidence wherever I go now, and I show up and I put in the work and give you something that I know is going to be memorable and that is memorable to me too, knowing I can produce something like that. So, it definitely was that bitter-sweet moment with Rhea Ripley, of knowing that our friendship together and growing together ultimately led to a Last Woman’s Standing match.”

This interview was performed just days before Raquel González will defend her NXT Women’s Championship at NXT TakeOver: In Your House 2021. You can check out the full card and our predictions here.
