Ted DiBiase Assesses Sid Vicious’ WWE Hall Of Fame Potential

On August 26, Sid Vicious passed away at the age of 63 after a long battle with cancer, a fact announced by his son Gunnar on social media. Vicious, a two-time WWE World Champion and two-time WCW World Champion from 1996 to 2000, also headlined WrestleMania twice, first against Hulk Hogan in 1992 and then against The Undertaker in 1997. On the podcast “Everybody’s Got a Pod,” former WWE star Ted DiBiase discussed Sid Vicious’ potential for WWE Hall of Fame induction following his death.

DiBiase stated, “The Hall of Fame isn’t just about ring skills or star power. It’s also about how well you worked with others and as a team. There are Hall of Famers who never main-evented or frequently participated in opening or mid-card matches. It’s not solely about microphone skills or in-ring performance; character strength plays a role too. I would give Vicious the benefit of the doubt.”

In the time since Vicious’ passing, numerous former WWE and WCW stars, including Booker T, Jeff Jarrett, and Kevin Nash, have shared their memories and experiences with the late World Champion.
