Toni Storm, known for her “Timeless” persona, has been going through a difficult stretch in recent months, both in AEW and beyond. The former AEW Women’s World Champion recently lost her title to her former protege-turned-rival, Mariah May, at AEW All In. After that, Storm’s matches in Stardom and CMLL—against top competitors like Mayu Iwatani and La Catalina—didn’t fare much better. This series of setbacks led Storm to hint at a possible retirement from wrestling in November, though AEW President Tony Khan quickly clarified that she wasn’t officially retiring.
However, the latest update on Storm’s wrestling future came in the form of an Instagram video on Monday, where she once again seemed to be signaling her exit from the business. The video shows Storm chopping wood in the wilderness, before facing the camera and sharing her thoughts. In a cryptic message, Storm confirmed that she would not be appearing at CMLL’s upcoming crossover show with AEW on December 13—a show CMLL had previously announced her participation in. She even hinted that her time with CMLL might be over, saying she likely wouldn’t return to the promotion “ever again.”
Storm, in typical fashion, also mentioned a “torn labia” as part of her explanation, but it was clear that her decision was driven by deeper personal reflections. “I don’t have it anymore,” Storm admitted, referencing her losses to May, Iwatani, and Catalina as the reason for her apparent burnout. While expressing confidence that AEW would find a suitable replacement for her spot—later confirmed to be Deonna Purrazzo—Storm emphasized that the wrestling world would continue to thrive without her. She described the industry as a “big, fat, beautiful place” and suggested that there was simply no longer a place for her in it to remain “timeless.”
“As for me, I’ll be where I now belong,” Storm said, before returning to chop wood. “In the sun, on the dirt, with this dog I stole from the park. Whatever happened to Toni Storm? Nothing. Chin down, tits in, and don’t bother watching for the shoe.”
With this latest video, Toni Storm leaves fans wondering if her wrestling days are truly behind her, or if this is just another twist in her ongoing saga. Either way, it seems like the “Timeless” one may be ready to step away from the ring for good.
