As a lifelong wrestling fan and current booker, AEW President Tony Khan has both witnessed and shaped pivotal moments in the industry. But which moment stands out as his personal favorite? During last week’s AEW All Out media call, Khan shared that his top moment is a recent title win at AEW All In, held at Wembley Stadium in London, England.
“I love the company. It’s constantly evolving, but what brings me the most joy each morning is that AEW has Bryan Danielson as the world champion,” Khan stated. “It’s an incredible achievement for any wrestling organization. We’re all immensely proud of him. His big moment at Wembley Stadium is my personal favorite moment in wrestling.”
At All In, Bryan Danielson faced Swerve Strickland for the AEW World Championship with the stipulation that a loss would mean his retirement from wrestling. Fortunately for fans and perhaps Khan, Danielson won, marking his first title in All Elite Wrestling. Following his victory, Danielson celebrated with his daughter Birdie at the AEW All In post-show media scrum.
“For those of you who were there in person or watching on video, witnessing Bryan and Birdie celebrate the championship win and their appearance at the media scrum was a fantastic moment,” Khan said. “It was all part of an unforgettable night. I’ll always remember Bryan’s sentiment, wishing the night could continue forever. That feeling was simply the best.”
