WWE Has Changed Strategies When It Comes To AEW And Firing Wrestlers

WWE released several talents due to budget cuts this week such as Braun Strowman, Aleister Black, Lana and others.

When AEW first launched, WWE was trying to lock up as much talent as possible. Dave Meltzer reported in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that the company is changing its mindset and strategy in regards to the competition.

WWE’s current mindset is that there are two realities – the ‘mathematical trajectory’ that had AEW beating WWE in the 18-49 ratings by the end of the year is no longer the case – and WWE likely won’t be able to put AEW out of business, so they’re not going anywhere.
