The September 20 edition of “WWE SmackDown” experienced a significant drop in overall viewership and key demographic ratings, marking the second week of the show on USA Network after its transition from Fox.
According to “WrestleNomics,” average viewership fell from 1,723,000 for the September 13 season premiere to 1,494,000—a 13 percent decline. Additionally, this week’s numbers represent a 21 percent decrease compared to the four-week trailing average. SmackDown also saw a 29 percent drop compared to the same month last year, when it performed significantly better. The report suggests that part of the viewership decline may be due to Fox’s greater household reach compared to USA Network.
