WWE Star Big E Provides Injury Update Following Stem Cell Treatment for Broken Neck

It has been over 30 months since former WWE Champion Big E (Ettore Ewen) suffered severe injuries to his neck and spine during a match on WWE SmackDown. Throughout this period, Ewen has shared numerous updates on his recovery, openly acknowledging the possibility that he might never return to the ring.

In a recent interview with Sports Talk Philly, Ewen shared that he underwent stem cell treatment several months ago and is optimistic about its potential to aid his recovery. While he doesn’t experience pain from his injuries regularly, this lack of discomfort makes it challenging for him to assess whether he can safely return to wrestling. He anticipates that another consultation with his doctors will provide more clarity on this matter in the near future.

“I have scans scheduled again in another three to six months, and if they look good and the doctors give me the green light to return, then we’ll sit down and discuss it,” Ewen explained. “I try not to dwell on things outside my control. It’s encouraging to think that if the opportunity arises to get back in the ring safely, I would be ready to seize it. However, if that doesn’t happen, I have a clear vision for what I want to pursue next, and I’m excited about that path as well.”

During his time away from the ring, Ewen has kept himself busy with various projects alongside his injury rehabilitation. He is currently serving as an emcee for the USFL’s Michigan Panthers and has also produced an animated short film titled Bridges, which highlights the story of civil rights activist Ruby Bridges.
