Ricochet was taken off WWE television last June amid rumors that he was not renewing his contract. Eleven weeks later, he made his AEW debut at All In, participating in the #1 Contendership Casino Gauntlet match.
The AEW star recently discussed his WWE tenure on “The Masked Man Show,” expressing frustration with his final years in the company and attributing his lack of success to himself. Despite the challenges, Ricochet is grateful for the experience, particularly for meeting his fiancée, Samantha Irvin, while with WWE.
“You can place blame wherever you want, but I only blame myself,” said Ricochet. “Everyone can assign blame, but I believe it’s up to me because that’s all I can control. I didn’t do something right, though I’m not sure what it was. Frustration might not be the right word, especially since my time there allowed me to meet my future wife. I wanted to do more, primarily for the fans who wanted to see me achieve something significant.”
Ricochet acknowledged that while WWE frequently featured him on television, he felt it was more about quantity than quality regarding his character. Despite his frustrations, he enjoyed his time with the company.
