Back in July, Shane McMahon made headlines when he met with AEW President Tony Khan, reportedly exploring the idea of making an appearance or even becoming “All Elite.” Khan had previously expressed that McMahon would be “welcome” in AEW and shared that their meeting had gone well. Now, nearly two months after his last interaction with Khan, McMahon has been spotted alongside other AEW stars.
After their AEW World Tag Team Championship match at Grand Slam against Will Ospreay and Kyle Fletcher, The Young Bucks crossed paths with McMahon at the airport. The Bucks later posted a photo of the encounter on social media, captioning it, “Interesting flight today.”
Since the summer, there has been little news about McMahon joining AEW, but Tony Khan continues to speak positively about him. Khan has described McMahon as an “insightful, intelligent person” and praised his down-to-earth nature.
Shane McMahon’s last WWE appearance came at WrestleMania 39, where he made a surprise return as an opponent for The Miz. However, just minutes into the match, McMahon suffered a quadriceps tear, forcing celebrity guest Snoop Dogg to step in and finish the match, ultimately helping McMahon secure the win. Earlier this year, Fightful Select reported that McMahon is not currently under contract with WWE, either as a performer or under a legends deal, though he did agree to be featured in the “WWE 2K24” video game, which was released this past March.
